A Christmas Rally is Almost Always a Given, Right? Not quite…

Although the second half of 2024 is shaping up to be bullish after a decline this summer (yes, that’s our current forecast), not every winter season kicks off with a rally in the markets.

Each year, investors expect a “Christmas Rally”. But investors should take a close look at the chart included here.

Readers will note that the market actually DECLINED from early November until the last week of December.

This type of market behavior is typically uncharacteristic, but it’s worth noting that not all cycles work perfectly in the marketplace.
